use opus unless you're an audiophile then use flac unless you want to play files on integrated or old hardware that only plays mp3s
Opus @ >128 kbps sounds as good as FLAC, even for audiophiles (as much as some may try to deny it). The real advantage for FLAC is for archival purposes.
I store all my music as flac cause I just dont care about file sizes
I have everything as FLAC, then every now and then run a batch conversion to a mirror folder as MP3V0
Of course, after I spent all that time converting and automating, I got a spotify subscription, and barely touch the files now :|
