Honestly I enjoy when I get all riled up and prove myself wrong before I post whatever bullshit I was going to write. Because I learn something and did a lot of work for it so I won’t make that mistake again.

What bugs the fuck out of me is when I’m right and I know it for a fact.. but I can’t find the right evidence because I can’t remember the right string of words to get through SEO hell, and there’s nothing to dispute it, but it’s just hard to find. And then I get bored looking and give up even replying.

Damn good for you. I fucking hate being wrong, hurts me to my gut. I blame my childhood.

Being wrong is just the first step to being right. The biggest thing is realizing there’s something to learn waiting for you, but you never learn if you don’t risk being wrong and making mistakes. (I promise I’m not AI, despite that sounding like a generic platitude)

My childhood didn’t teach me that (woof..), learning about great successes did. They all have a series of fuckups along the way but kept going. Mostly because they came from rich families and had the luxury to fail, but let’s not dwell on circumstances..

That's what an AI would say

The only reason I don't like being proven wrong is because nobody can ever just move past it. It always results in everyone giving you shit for it for like an hour after.

Let me take the L in peace tyvm.

I don’t like being wrong, but I’ll eat crow and post the proof I was wrong (or at least admit I was wrong and leave my post) if I’m willing to take the punishment. Only thing that bugs the shit out of me is the torrent of downvotes on the admission. I mean, there’s plenty of posts that often discuss shaming those that admit they’re wrong as really bad form because we need to allow people the room to accept that they need to change their minds, yet people hammer them with downvotes all the time. I always toss an upvote at people that admit a screw-up, but they often remain in the negatives.

Yeah, finding proof can be a PITA, but I gotta lol at myself if I mis-read or mis-interpreted the info and formed a bad argument around it. Now I’m doubly unhappy that not only was I wrong, but I was wrong because I didn’t understand what I read in the first place.
