Hanging a pice of metal on your shirt to try to combat pc viruses is like making a wish upon a star to combat gun violence in America.
Friend, it was a joke and commentary on the packaging which specifically says "may help."
I'm not an idiot; I don't think a decorative pin would help with tech support issues. I just thought it was funny that even the dopes selling this BS know enough to not claim it "will help" or "does help" so that they don't get sued for false advertising. But there's nothing illegal about saying that something might help.
Ahh gotcha. Been encountering a lot of people that genuinely think like that and jumped the gun.
Fair enough. I haven't seen too many folks like that on Lemmy yet, but it's only a matter of time
