This is only gonna happen more.
For a while perhaps, but not for long. Democracy will prevail.
It will be interesting to hear what motivated the attack.
Female PM from 2019 on, social Dem, assailant was maleβ¦ I have some guessesβ¦
I'm specifically asking to avoid misunderstandings. Are you saying that this happened because the PM is female and ofc a male specimen would hit her? What are you saying?
Well, I listed multiple aspects that would be a compounding factor. Overall, males are more conservative than females in the western surveys done. Furthermore, the majority, by a long way, of violent assaults are perpetrated by males.
Add to that the increase in violence perpetrated by right wing groups in recent years, the odds are good that she was targeted.
Aren't the Danish SocDems this conservative+leftist mix?
Unlike totalitarian regimes, democracy does not have strong protections against disbanding itself, just look at Hungary, Russia or Turkey. So, in the long run democracy is just a temporary fad that will fade away eventually.
None of those countries are good representations of where democracy is heading..
They have the same rules as all the other democratic countries. The only difference is that they had someone take over the democratic process.
They're different because corruption (and in turkey: religion) was already present to such a degree that an actual democracy never happened.
