Cocktails, the libationary art!
A place for conversation about cocktails, ingredients, home mixology, the bar industry or liquor industry, glassware - this is not an exhaustive list. If you think it's in some way related to cocktails it's probably fine.
If you post something you didn't create give credit whenever possible.
Pictures and recipes are encouraged when posting a drink as a standalone post. Example of an ideal drink post:

We love garnishes.
Remember the code of conduct, keep it nice. In terms of cocktails- specific etiquette that might be different from other communities:
Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.
A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.
On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.
Idk yet. Made em right before I left for the night. Don't work today but intend to go in just to see if they set properly. Will report back on how gross they are in 5 hours or so.
How were they?
God awful. I've never used unflavored gelatin before, and it is supposed to be treated differently than box jello. They came out super rubbery and thick. You would have to chew for a good 20 seconds just to be able to attempt to swallow. The flavor was even more bitter than regular malort some how. 1/10
I'm going to play around with it some more when we get malort back in stock.
The unflavored gelatin is great for making stronger alcoholic jello shots. Also for a bit firmer lime/orange wedge jello shots for presentation.
If you use the sweet jello mix with too much hard alcohol they tend not to set well, so its handy to add some unflavored gelatin for some shot-strength jello shots, especially if you're adding some homemade syrups or juice to balance it.
Maybe you could add elderflower syrup next time to balance it a bit.
I kinda wanna make some frenet jello shots now.
