Fake Internet points don't mean anything on Lemmy though. They don't conglomerate into a nice big number that you can look back on to feel better about yourself (you have no idea how hard artists are on themselves). You get them for a single post and then they vanish into the ether.

I kinda like that tbh. I get to see a number when I post something, but when I don't post anything for a while, there's no big "total" number on my profile reminding me that I'm doing fuck all when I could be making art :3

I draw mediocre art and yeah this is absolutely true.

I know that there were (are?) browser extensions that fetch and display "karma" on profiles, at the very least on firefox. Might be worth a search for people interested in statistics and numbers going up.
