General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

When do you think the people of Clacton will realise they've been used?

That must be something in the water because every time the news interviews any of them they're all as thick as bricks.

"He's a man of the people", no he's not, he's a multi-millionaire.

"He speaks truth to power", again no he does not, he's literally never done that because that would involve doing his job which he's never done. He didn't do it when he was in MEP why would he do it as an MP?

There's even some fat old guy saying he was a WASP which is an old '90s White supremacists phraseology. So not only is he out of date he's also a racist great combo.

Farage is not an Anglo-Saxon surname, and he has non-English ancestors besides the alleged Huguenot. As for whether he's Catholic or Protestant, it's unlikely he attends any religious ceremony any more than he attends the European Parliament or the House of Commons. That would require effort.
