Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.

As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world: IPCC AR6 Figure 2 - Thee bar charts: first chart: how much each gas has warmed the world. About 1C of total warming. Second chart: about 1.5C of total warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases, offset by 0.4C of cooling from aerosols and negligible influence from changes to solar output, volcanoes, and internal variability. Third chart: about 1.25C of warming from CO2, 0.5C from methane, and a bunch more in small quantities from other gases. About 0.5C of cooling with large error bars from SO2.

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:

This means that the new-built vehicles will burn fossil fuels for decades to come.

There are pretty intense local brand preferences. Nationally Ford has been selling more

I still don't see it personally. Like I literally mean I agree with you but I just don't see people (Nationwide) in my industry buying them and not so much, it doesn't happen, or it's not possible.

I don't doubt you that it's not happening in your circle. It's pretty definitely happening though:

Sales of America’s No. 1 selling electric truck, the F-150 Lightning, totaled 15,645 through June of this year. F-150 Lightning sales for Q2 totaled 7,902, up 77 percent from a year ago.

Rivian isn't selling as many:

Rivian Automotive, Inc. (NASDAQ: RIVN) today announced production and delivery totals for the quarter ending June 30, 2024. The company produced 9,612 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois and delivered 13,790 vehicles during the same period.

Now...Ford doesn't appear to be trying to scale up and Rivian is, so I expect this to change in the future. But it's definitely a lot that are selling.

Yes, that's why I agreed with you.
