Thank you for catching that I’ll edit my post. Been a long day at work so math isn’t mathing for me lol

Yeah someone correct me if I’m misremembering but think ~1% of the US is trans so ~~this lines up almost exactly with what you’d expect based on the number of mass shootings.~~

~~They’re no more or less likely to do it than cis people based on that chart.~~

Math was wrong they’re actually 10% less likely than cis people so even more ludicrous they’re trying this but obviously they’re not basing the ban attempt on reality.

Not that facts are going to get in the way of an opportunity for them to disarm their enemies but:

They do play him and he’s actually decent on defense so it’s typically at the end of quarters for defensive coverage.

Definitely benefits from being Gianni’s brother though. Without Giannis I’d guess he’d be like a two way g league player, maybe end of bench when he was younger and a team wanted to take a flyer.

Giannis has said it helps him play better having his brother there so realistically even if having his brother there only makes Giannis play 1% better that’s still way more contribution to the team than your average 15th roster spot guy.

If you’re looking for something easier I’d recommend Hakims videos

Think he has book recommendations in it for further reading but he goes over most of the major points well.

Im at work but very high level some of the issues are below. Apologies I may not be writing these out the best but will try to edit later.

  1. Computational problem

Since this was before computer started to become widely used, central planning of a large economy like the USSR was difficult. This lead to some economic problems.

Nowadays that obviously wouldn’t be the case and this is covered well in the book “People’s republic of Walmart”.

  1. Leadership Issues

The western idea of a dictatorship wasn’t accurate but the party did have some issues with leadership. Ossification (spelling might be wrong but too many old people in leadership) made it unable to pivot in some ways it could have. Also I believe it was Kruchev that allowed effectively any class to join the party (even bourgeois) led the party to become revisionist over the years.

As others mentioned they actually ended up reintroducing some market forces as a result of the reformists but not in smart/controlled way like China which led to other economic issues.

Will try to flesh this out more when I have a chance.

There’s 2 reasons I think he won’t go easy

  1. The other owners have seemed to be annoyed with Balmers spending ability to the point they put actual team building penalties like the 2nd apron into the last CBA so think there will be pressure from other owners to throw the book at him especially with it being a star player.

  2. With gambling legalized and the league promoting it, there’s an expectation the league should enforce fairness even more than before. The league is already dealing with questions of legitimacy with the gambling investigation on some players, they really don’t want teams skirting cap rules on top of that. They’ll likely get pressure from the sportsbook partners since if people think it’s rigged they won’t bet.

Damn if true the Clippers are screwed. The wolves were the last team to do that and the punishment was:

The league stripped the Timberwolves of five draft picks (first round 2001–2005), but it was eventually reduced to three first-round picks (2001, 2002, and 2004). The league also fined the Timberwolves $3.5 million and suspended general manager Kevin McHale for one year.

Would have to imagine the Clippers could lose 5 since it’s involving a star player.

And it’s not like those were one-offs, COINTELPRO was crazy in scope and did massive damage beyond just the murders.

It’s not like that’s all in the past either, just look at how the Palestine protests were handled as well as the Floyd protests.

Yeah really frustrating given all the good news coming out of there until this.
