I only have questions -

The hazmat guy. Why was he focused on twice? Why has he not made a dent in any of those repairs and what the hell caused the damage?!

I want to know how this will all be contained/covered up considering in Alien “the company” knew about Xenomorphs but most other people do not.

Where did the eggs come from? Were they retrieved from Planet 4? Somewhere else?

NGL, I was super skeptical about this series, going into it, but these two episodes are not only showcasing the aesthetic to a T, but are pulling some deep refs from the best of the previous flicks, and spinning up an intriguing set of plot wheels, too.

I'm all-in. 🤘🏼

While watching the second episode, there were many times I found myself asking, "Wow, this is a cool/intriguing/intense situation they are in. Any of these could make for a good or great movie premise." Then, at some points along the way, I was searching my brain for any movies or TV shows I had seen or heard of that used any of the premises. I came up empty handed, but figured others might be able to get a few.

So what flick references did you pick up? =)

Oh, man. I would have to go back and take notes — which I just might do, in fact. I'm not usually one to academically study a piece of media, but this one is full of in-house lore & intriguingly pre-scifi (?) aesthetic, and they're hitting the marks with the script, at every turn.

So far, this isn't a cash-grab spin-off of anything that came before it, and I'm genuinely surprised at that alone. Its all reboots, reskins & other unoriginal burps as far as the eye can see, these days...

Also, I'm curious where they're taking this Wendy/John thing (ergo, is Tinkerbell == comp sci/tech in this equation?), especially since the series' art direction is clearly on-point with the cyphered, smooth-chunk "cassette futurism" of the preceding works, et al. 🤩

I like how the Boy Genius explained why he created the human-synthetic hybrid. Just so he could have a conversation on his level eventually.

Mr. October at first I thought was bad and this episode shows he is just on task.

There's a 'balancing act' (if you may,) to story/character pacing in this art form. Go too quickly, and you're audience might become overburdened with details. Slowly 'drip' those details or story beats and your audience might find your movie/TV show 'uninteresting,' 'lacking,' or 'dull. ' On the discussion page for the first episode, I shared how I was very impressed with their pacing of the show. They are establishing lots of threads to explore and I'm enjoying it.

He's been an interesting character to learn. They've shown how childlike he is, and that allows for challenging and intriguing interactions and conflicts. The interaction between Dame Sylvia and him made me feel the conflict I figure she's facing. It will be interesting where she ends up at the end of episode 4-5.

I love how ambiguous Boy Kavalier comes off. And having him state that he wants someone smarter than him to have discussions with is a great story subplot. =)
