Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Don't waste your time waiting for the Democrats to save you.

Organize and train.

Once again:

  • Fascists promise to do fascist things
  • Americans vote for fascists
  • Elected fascists do fascist things
  • How could Democrats do this???

You missed a couple of steps, no biggie:

  • Fascists promise to do fascist things
  • Americans vote for fascists
  • Elected fascists do fascist things
  • Fascists go unpunished because of the Democrats
  • Elected fascists do fascist things
  • How could Democrats do this???

Where do you think the fascists get the political capital to be able to do whatever they want with impunity? The fucking voters.

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Yes, but how do (a good proportion of) voters decide who they support? They look at what the two parties do. And this is what the Democrats did: not even close to enough.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 7 points 11 hours ago

And they only know what the Democrats did through the media, and the media overwhelmingly supported the fascists (and is largely owned by fascist oligarchs).

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 4 points 10 hours ago

They look at what the two parties do.

And they picked the fascists.

The fact that you liberals, after all this time, after all the tools leftists have armed you with to debunk US State Dept lies, after all the wealth of historical records available to you, still don’t understand the consequences of your own actions, still don’t understand that you are the fascists, desperately trying to scrabble to explain how this could be happening,

And still being wrong,

Is genuinely the funniest thing I’ve ever fucking seen in my life.

America deserves Trump.

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 22 hours ago

Just maintaining the rule of law should have been enough. Didn’t trump just brag about musk manipulating the voting machines in Pennsylvania?

All the democrats had to do was enforce the law while in power, and they failed to do so. The monied interests in America wanted fascism, and it was handed to them on a silver platter.

Democrats abandoned all else to focus on one thing: keeping Donald Trump out of office

Did they really? Who were these Democrats who focused on keeping Trump out of office?

Were it the ones who wouldn't stop talking about him? The ones giving him free advertisement? Or was that the press? Were it the ones who refused to make policies that people were interested? WHO!?

Y'all love Trump. Don't even pretend.

Don't y'all me. I'm not a peckerwood, and I probably don't belong to any group you've lazily assigned me to.

[–] OsrsNeedsF2P@lemmy.ml -1 points 9 hours ago

I had a brief look through your comment history, you're posting mainly on Trump posts, encouraging the cycle of Trump in the news.

Yea, you love Trump, and you're part of the y'all. What would you even do with your time if Trump wasn't around?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 22 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

Both Clinton and Harris ran on "I'm not Trump!" but when the public responds "Yeah, we know!" you need to have something else.

Clinton was "Well, it's my turn."

Harris was "I'm just like Biden."

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 15 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The past POTUS term was like a wet blanket being dropped on a large fire.

Ok, it stopped the biggest flames, but since the blanket was never worked further, it left the entire firepit smoldering for four years, then R won and yesterday pulled the blanked off and poured a tank of petrol on the smouldering fire.

Not like there wasn't collision between Trump and Bibi so that the Dems couldn't been seen to solve the Israel situation and have a lot of people angry of his policies vote for the orange arse instead.

[–] PersnickityPenguin@lemm.ee 24 points 22 hours ago

The D party just texted me today asking for more money and feedback. I gave them a piece of my mind!

That'll show em!

Fail to plan for a fascist cult of personality, plan to fail to a fascist cult of personality
