In Tapper for the Apple II, the player controls a bartender serving drinks to customers across five screens that each represent a different bar room.[1] The player must tap on beer mugs as customers hold them up to serve drinks as fast as possible before the customers get impatient.[1] Between levels, there is a bonus round where the player must avoid a "soda bandit" trying to steal drinks.
