I wrote a program to make a web server with routes and their content sourced from a text file in golang. I have wanted to learn go for a while so this was a good first step!

RULES (updated 01/22/25)
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
- Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
- Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
- Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

I finally got the musical instrument I've been lusting over for years now:
I learned how to use and configure kipper on a printer. Trying to make a model how.
Deciding not to settle for a "red flag" person and instead respect my boundaries, rather than let myself be with a manipulative and dangerous person.
I recently started using voice (SSB) on the HF ham bands, and have made contacts on 15, 17, 20, and 40m. No real DX, but made one foreign contact ~1000mi away and another domestic ~2000mi away.
I live in a city and it's challenging to get a good antenna setup, so it's always a compromise where I am.
Nothing very impressive by ham standards, but it's fun.
Ham radio is fun. Im not active, but maybe try posting a conversation on the different ham radio Lemmy communities.
I've just taught myself to knit. I made a simple ribbed hat and now I'm halfway through a cabled headband. There are loads of mistakes and it's not as relaxing as I would have hoped but I'm proud of it all none the less.
I worked 4 hours today, filling in for someone, and I made it through the first half of the day without getting fired or falling apart.
Not a lot to be proud of, I guess, but its been a while since I was able to be productive for even a few hours at a time.
Sounds like a positive step forward, we're rooting for you.
How 3D I got this to look!
It's a little mace like thing my character has on the end of his tail, it's shiny and spiky but it's just...I picked quite possibly the hardest shape to paint in a way that looks convincingly 3D, but I think I pulled it off! 😃

I purchased a Tp-Link Archer C7 router at a thrift store for 5 dollars. Brought it home and flashed a specific revision of open-wrt to its firmware, and then ran an update file on top of that firmware revision to turn it into a pineapple router.
Had no idea if it would work when I was doing this.
Works great, the 5 bucks was totally worth it, and now I can use it to test hardening on my mobile devices.
I've been having a lot of fun making experimental music on my laptop, and my friends recently helped me learn how to truly be proud of what I'm making.
Here's a quick link to a WIP I'm having fun with! The ending bit is supposed to transition into something like Grass Cannons by the Olivia Tremor Control, but I haven't gotten to that just yet. I'm very meticulous with my production process, still not quite satisfied with what I got here.
I recently got ranked very high in my country's public healthcare medical examinations. Don't want to doxx myself (the lists are public) but let's just say it was really high.
