Supervillain origin story if I've ever heard one

[–] qjkxbmwvz@startrek.website 16 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

Sounds like it was a 2 petawatt pulsed laser, with picosecond pulses, so 2kJ/pulse. Staggering amount of power and energy for a pulsed laser!

Note that it's not CW, so the average power will be much, much, much less than the pulsed power. Too lazy to find the rep rate to see average power.

The amount of cannons that have had to get in the unemployment line is stratospheric.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Gets angry and lies himself on top of a high powered sniper rifle

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 day ago

That's a pretty niche role, a position as part of the laser grid at a museum is much more steady

[–] shoulderoforion@fedia.io 10 points 1 day ago

just look at the guy, all he wanted to do was an honest days lazing for an honest days pay, was that too much to ask
