Do you use audio players? Any special customization/theme?

This is foobar2000 v2.0. I know you can do a lot of customization but this is enough for me. I also use foo_title which adds a customizable mini window:

(Not my screenshot but I use the same theme for my mini window)

I used foobar2000 for years and years - it’s everything you could possibly need, gets out of your way, and you can funk up the UI if you really need it.

But I have to be honest and say I’m now just using streaming services and vinyls. Having a massive MP3 / FLAC / OGG collection is no longer something I aspire to, especially given how hard it is to get legitimate, DRM-free files from the artists I enjoy (and who knows what will happen to Bandcamp after the sale).

Physical ownership has become far more valuable to me. All my favourite artists sell vinyls at their shows and there’s something beautiful about seeing album artwork in 12x12” instead of 128x128px.

I use a fairly vanilla Foobar2000 portable install to listen to my own files at work (via an old Henry Kloss Model 88. On the run I have a Note 8 running PowerAmp and Foobar (depending on my mood). If I can't find music on Bandcamp (and I usually can) I buy CDs from the last physical record shop in my area and rip my own FLAC files.

Then there's my Sony MZ-R920 and stacks of MiniDiscs but that might drift too far from the thread topic.

I've always been a fan of mpd/mopidy but cmus is definitely up in second place.
