From my experience with it being introduced in Wales, most people are happy that’s it’s implemented in their own street and area. They just hate that they also have to drive slower where other people live.
The rare reverse NIMBY
OIMBY
Since when has their own evidence stopped a tory doing something shit

You know that
Rishi is a smegging twat.
In Germany, many residential areas have 30 km/h (~17 mph) speed limits. It's considered normal, reasonable and safe here.
Countdown until they david-nutt the researchers for daring to contradict government policy with evidence.
30 limits should be opt-in: Chosen for roads it suits, rather than the current opt-out. There are often narrow residential roads which really should be 20, but there isn't enough evidence due to the low traffic volume.
How fast is 20 mph?
About 36 kmph.
36000mph? Wow!
Yes, 36000 metres per hour
Zoom zoom!
Miles are really big
25% faster than a quick electric scooter
You know those things can get up there now, right? Like 70+mph
Yeah, talking about the much more common types you see people using more often in cities. Also why I didn't say 25% faster than the highest end ones
They're amazing it's a shame all forms of electric scooter or electric powered vehicle outside of cars and motorbikes are illegal here.
And yet I see them all over the place
Around the speed of a quick push bike.
UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(
