This guy will be studied for centuries, his ability to captivate minds of every person who has internet. He will make headlines for every day for the rest of his life and nobody can do anything about it.

I did not think about the fact that I will probably live a few decades after his death. It will be interesting to see how he will be know to people who did not endure him

The craziest thing, unless he becomes a king or starts WW3 against Iran or China, i believe we will forget him like we forgot all other assholes that made people's lives miserable. Only OG gangstas like ucle Adi, ucle Josif, uncle Mao stay in permanent memory.

"endure" does seem like the most appropriate verb to use there.

I am not a native speaker. I meant it like "to survive something difficult". https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/endure

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

No, it was a great choice.

[–] vonbaronhans@midwest.social 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Oh yeah, that's exactly what I thought you meant. I FELT it, deep in my bones.

Would never have guessed you weren't a native speaker, lol.

Oh dang... I misread your comment, I thought you said "It does not seem..." Things make more sense now^^ I was questionning my understanding of the word to endure

10 years later and there's STILL potential for surprises and new lows. Absolutely amazing.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Well, somebody could make the headlines say certain things.

[–] Stern@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

I knew he was dragging us backwards but I didn't think we'd go back to before the fuckin tea party

He thinks that he'll be crowned king if the US joins the Commonwealth that's why.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 16 points 1 week ago

I genuinely think this may have crossed his mind.
