I hate when people insist Xi is an evil dictator who doesn't really care about people and is just saying stuff like this. The ideology of the CPC is laid down in stone and you don't get to the top position in an ideological organization without having being a true believer in the ideology.

Its as stupid as saying the head of Greenpeace doesn't want to save the environment, the head of PETA is on a carnivore diet, or that the grand wizard of the KKK isn't really an anti-Semite white supremacist.

Liberals are so used to leaders who lie and they can't even conceive of a politician who's ideology isn't "make rich people richer." They don't even see that as ideology they think "Freedom and democracy" is ideology.

Second time I've seen this video and both times it stands out to me how he's taking the time to ask them about their living conditions in detail. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a US representative doing that; just a lot of unfulfilled campaign promise vagueness. But it makes sense that he would. It fits with communist practice of investigating conditions, so that you can do something about them.

In a time where white house is posting deportation edits for tiktok it's a really stark contrast to see such a gentle and heartwarming video surrounding Xi Jinping. I'm a westerner, so I just don't see this type of stuff. I kind of wish I was seeing western leaders edited in similarly heart warming ways, to like, inspire me or whatever. Guess they'd have to inspire something in me to begin with, though.

Many in the west would see this and say "He is just saying things. He is lying."

Is the 800 million people who have been risen out of poverty a lie? Is the 90% approval ratings a lie? Are the constantly increasing living conditions a lie? Are the massive infrastructure projects a lie? Are the support systems in place for people in need a lie?

He does not just say things. He acts. His actions, and accomplishments speak for themselves. There is no one alive today who has done more good, for more people, than Xi Jinping. That is a fact.

Well part of the issue is that lies in politics is all that most of these people know. They admit it or not, are so used to that spectacle of lies that they can't imagine an honest politician anymore.

Being presented with some factual information to the contrary probably causes some serious discomfort. Thing that you were taught to hate since a little kid turns out to work better than shit you lived in all your life. It doesn't justify willful ignorance but I get it, it hurts (:

It's just the anti-communist stubbornness of some people that irritates me. There should be a time in your life where you just accept that you were wrong. Admit it, improve and move on with your life. Instead I see people doing mental gymnastics and lowering themselves to support fascists instead. It's horrible.
