That depends on what definition you use, there are multiple:
- A national geopolitical policy in which the entire world is regarded as the appropriate sphere for a state's influence.
- The development of social, cultural, technological, or economic networks that transcend national boundaries; globalization.
- An ideology based on the belief that people, goods and information ought to be able to cross national borders unfettered.
- A socio-economic system dedicated to free trade and free access to markets.
The first is essentially imperialism, which is terrible, but the other three rock since they tend to lift both sides of the transaction (cheap labor for me means jobs and opportunities for you). As long as the poorer countries aren't completely corrupt, they tend to turn into industrialized countries through the process of globalization (first export raw materials, then refined materials, then parts of products, then finished products, then they outsource the first few steps).
Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Free trade is a good thing, even if it tends to promote consumerism, but imperialism is never a good thing.
Globalism? Like, it covers a lot of different things, and not all are necessarily bad.
He's a bad actor and he knows it. He knows, and doesn't care one bit, that his previous comments contradict his current comments. Everything these people say is in service to making their people look good and right, and making your people look bad and wrong. That's literally the only goal. You will never win an argument with them or embarrass them, because facts don't matter to them and they have no shame. Words mean nothing to them. Words are just a weapon and they are fighting a guerilla war.
