If you just graze hard enough and don't defend your fellow gazelles, one day you too can become a lion.

Just gotta pull yourself up by your hooves.

More honest than claiming it'll "trickle down."

[–] trailing9@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

But it will!!!!

Joke aside, money would trickle down when workers ensure that key markets like housing and healthcare are competitive and not take whatever wage increase there is.

Can you elaborate more on the second bit? I'm having trouble piecing it together grammatically to understand the sentence.

Housing is a sellers market where buyers compete. There needs to be a surplus of housing so that buyers can choose. Then prices fall to construction costs plus cost of management.

Money would trickle down if workers ensured that key markets like housing and healthcare were competitive, and not systems that take whatever wage increase they can get.

is my read of it

“One day if I work really hard, maybe they’ll let me bite a gazelle!” — The Gazelle

The title of the comic is "Tax Deductions" so I can assume Oglaf is satirizing working class people who worship capitalists.

Is this anti-CRT? I fully accept if I'm reaching too far.

You can tell it's not some right-wing boomer cartoon because there's diversity.

For example, the group of lions is (almost) evenly split between male and female lions.

And there is one antelope which is left-handed, while all others are right-handed.

Uhhhh... I... Huh. Holy shit. You're right... Wtf. That's so weirdly cool. I never would have noticed

[–] Amaltheamannen@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 year ago

It's about capitalism

[–] ohitsbreadley@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What makes you think it's anti-CRT?

[–] Mambert@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The panel where the cycle is shown, followed by the gazelle being thankful for being eaten, looks like the rhetoric of anti-CRT.

[–] zbyte64@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

CRT is when we teach sheeple to be sheep?

I read it as more pro-critical history than anything.

[–] Mambert@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

If you go by conspiracy theorists' rhetoric, yes CRT is when sheeple are taught to be sheep.

It's a Lion King spinoff where the gazelle idolizes the lion.

It's the Lion Kink, It have gore, sex and everything
