My headcannon was always that they were action figures. The episode where they all go on the surface shows all of the characters as puppets

so in my head all of the characters are real items that are being animated by some sort of undersea magic.

I think the non-official canon is Bikini Bottom is near Bikini Atoll, the site of nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific Ocean. Radiation created anthropomorphic sea creatures like SpongeBob. I like your idea of Mermaid man/ Barnacle action figures… maybe irradiated ones at that.

Radiation magic, just like in Fallout!

Also lots of bullet magic

You should watch the skin theory video if you want to fuck your head canon.

Ugh. Obviously Mermaidman was a mermaid bitten by a radioactive man, gaining the powers of two legs, and barnacle boy was a barnacle magically chimera-ed with a boy FMA style.

Media literacy is just dead, and everyone needs everything explained to them.

It's so sweet when children want to help their parents with their work! Really warms my heart 🥰

Could not the squirrel be man sized. It does afterall have the ability to don underwater diving equipment

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 16 points 2 weeks ago

We've seen Sandy outside in Texas and she's s regular sized squirrel.

[–] Ephera@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 weeks ago

Well, Spongebob is a kitchen sponge, so he should be the size of mermaid man's palm...

I mean they are not human just by the fact that they can live underwater.

Mermaid Man breathes through the starfish on his nose. It's not decorative.

well you've never seen Barnacle Boy and Squidward in the same photo.

Squidward's really small for a squid, too.
