For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Not just Musk, but many of the Billionaires on the list.

In a world where the average person would need to work over 4 million years to earn what some billionaires have, let's put their wealth into perspective. Choose a billionaire and spend their fortune on everything from basic necessities to luxurious extravagances.

Note: This is a thought experiment for perspective. Most billionaires don't have their net worth in liquid cash, often utilizing strategies like "Buy, Borrow, Die" for liquidity while their wealth remains in assets and investments.

Build enough renewable energy installations to supply every person in the world and replace all fossil fuel generation.

TIL muskrat could buy "end world hunger" for 9 years and with the leftover hire 8500 people at $500k/yr to manage the 9 years of hunger ending logistics

His fortune is a house of cards. He's only wealthy as long as he doesn't spend too much at once. Selling large amounts of stock would crash the price and therefore crash his wealth before he could sell more.

I would love to be able to break the cycle of poverty en masse. For too many people, simply being born poor means they will be poor for life.

The part that bothers me, is the more I noodle on this, the only way I see to correct it also involves mass sterilizations. Hey, I'll pay for your food, clothing, & shelter for life, but in exchange you have to have a vasectomy. I don't think that's a great offer. If someone has a better solution, I'm all ears.

Education and early childhood support work, that’s why conservatives want to get rid of them

Look at what China did to massively reduce poverty?
