Beat on red hot metal with a hammer, and fly hot air balloons.

So all that would change is that my basic needs would actually be met.

Basic needs only? Still work so I can have money to do more than just basic things.

I'd throw parties probably, but only if poverty were eliminated for everyone.

[–] die444die@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I mean I think you can still throw some parties even before then. Just keep it realistic.

[–] ExtraMedicated@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Indie game development. Except more full time instead of just on weekends like I do now.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 2 points 1 week ago

I don't think I'd ever leave the makerspace.

[–] Zacryon@feddit.org 2 points 1 week ago

I would become an author and write plenty of fiction, poems, short stories. I might also get into game development. And if time permits, I would even pick up on astronomy.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

Still work but at a reduced rate and else I would actually think about volunteering or improving my living conditions like a garden or tech at gome :)

Exactly what I am already doing. imagineering my top rated VR Theme Park and explore SE Asia and other parts of the world. Love both.

Haha I like to be silly at work sometimes after I’ve already paid the big monthly expenses. I say, “I’m here to do two things help kids and pay bills, and I’m all outta bills.” I would continue to work in my field on a part time basis. Then I would make time for a few doctor appointments and start going to therapy again. I’d walk my dog at different parks more often. Hopefully id make more time with my friends and family assuming they have the same deal. I would want to be more involved with my community too.

[–] slingstone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Exercise to get healthy and work on my garden, to start. Then I'd handle any necessary projects for my home. Then I'd find causes to support by volunteering.

[–] dustyData@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Go into teaching. I love to assist others in their learning voyage, I love science, research, classes. However, financial realities mean that I would be starving if I pursued that path. So I find fulfillment in adjacent activities in my current line of work. I would also have an electronics workshop, repairing computers and other electronics for fun.

[–] seeigel@feddit.org 2 points 1 week ago

Without joking, most likely I would watch more Lemmy.

[–] GarboDog@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

Would study and do arts and use our findings and research to help improve the world in some kind of way, even if its a little.

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'm into bird watching, so I'd want to travel to see new ones and what have you.

I would want to craft more.

I would read more.

I would take language lessons

I would work on that book idea

I would take classes on anything that interested me.

I would want to have a small farm, I just think it's neat.

[–] DJDarren@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

I would make radio. I do one show a week and I sometimes struggle to find time to even prepare for that, so if time weren't an issue I'd probably end up just doing a load more.

play more games learn to draw maybe pick up a new language.

[–] Rin@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

I'd make things like drones or robots or something.

I'd design and build useful things

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I would build affordable housing.

[–] Brotha_Jaufrey@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Start painting or some shit idk

[–] peregrin5@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

Make my pottery, dive deeper into woodworking, and learn permaculture farming.

[–] Delvin4519@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Move to Canada, Europe, or Aus/NZ.

Most likely scroll through Lemmy and play video games, pursue hobbies.

[–] olafurp@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I'd spend more time playing guitar and chess and spend more time with my son.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

I'd be one of those old school naturalists and just, like, go live in a swamp for three years with one pair of clothes, a cot, a journal, and a pencil.

[–] redwattlebird@lemmings.world 1 points 1 week ago

Make video games or digital interactive art pieces for VR

[–] ocean@lemmy.selfhostcat.com 1 points 1 week ago

Also my research but with less bs

[–] countrypunk@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'd make a lot of paintings, learn how to animate, compose a gigaton of music, make a graphic novel, collect analog synths and various folk instruments, gaze at the stars, go camping a lot, make a garden of native plants, design my house to be optimal and asestically pleasing, read a lot of books, spend time with friends, host a server or two. And travel. Lots of travel but I'd do travel where I stay in one place for months as opposed to multiple in a couple of weeks so that I could really absorb the culture.

[–] Matriks404@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Travel, meet with friends, play video games, watch some movies.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Go back to the low paying job that I really liked but couldn't afford.

[–] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 week ago

Build things, well, until I get tired of it. The ADHD is strong and I hate fine finish work.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Study more JiuJitsu and physiotherapy for poor people.

[–] vin@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 week ago

Politics. Gotta ensure that utopia survives and expands

[–] marx2k@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I'd dive fully into circuitboard electronics

[–] JayGray91@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Sounds like it would have to be free or low cost hobby. So probably I'd go hiking, and camping while reading books and making coffee with my aeropress

Basically yurucamp. A nice cosy anime. You should watch it

If there's somehow a way in this utopia scenario to also maintain a moped like a Honda supercub or vespa, add that as well as I cruise around between hiking and camp sites

Yes I can do that right now but you know how it is what it is
