This looks like some editorialized bullshit from Occupy Democrats. Though LBJ did say it, it implies only Republicans vote against the interests of the working class. When liberals say 'against their best interests' they always mean their own personal interests.

Well, racism is still very much part of the equation alongside all the other bigotry. It is a buffet of bigotry, allowing bigots to pick their favourite one as a reason to vote for them.
