So long as he isn't snorting the shit, yeah, there are people who literally need it to concentrate. My sister's professionally nonfunctional when she's off her ADD meds, no joke. 
Uhhh, yes, neurodiverse people like myself do in fact need this medication, depending on the person.
Let him get it from the local pharmacy using some bitc...

So, I know that my knowledge of law starts and stops with episodes of Law & Order, but couldn't this basically be grounds for a mistrial if he couldn't properly assist in his own defense due to not being granted access to his medication?
My totally uneducated guess is that's exactly what they're trying to set up. Not a mistrial, but grounds for an appeal.
