  1. All public transport now runs on schedule. I love schedules.
  2. It's illegal to show up at someone's door unnanounced. You must text first.
  3. No music in supermarkets. Also, ordering groceries to your address is now free.
  4. Instead of engaging in meaningless small talk, people ask what topic someone has been obsessed with lately.
  5. Ads are abandoned.
  6. Working from home is now default.
  7. Restaurants carry common "Safe food" menus, and silent seating options.
  8. Social capital is no longer about how much you earn, and what kind of success you have, but about knowledge of obscure movie references.
  9. What's on TV? Oh, it's your comfort show on rerun again!
  10. People of support level 2 and higher will be granted magical powers to compensate for their difficulties. Not sure how I'll implement this in practice but I'll damn sure give it a shot.

This is how I'm finding out that public transport without a schedule exists. Or do you mean, it's so frequently so off schedule that the schedule might as well not exist? I recently learned that German rail officially says their schedule is just supposed to be a rough informatory guideline and not an actual schedule, for example

I have public transit near me that's "approximately every 15 minutes" but they just show up and leave whenever they like and I guess it averages to 15min(?). It's awful.

You have my vote sir

I don't want a schedle, I want public transit so frequent I don't need to check the schedule - I just go. In low demand ares I'll allow a schedule, but never more than half an hour between stops - 24x7x365 - you don't get holidays.

Ok. So I'm not even sure if I'm autistic. ADHD for sure and I know those often go hand in hand. But this post made me think of something that I find kind of disabling. Wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Ads. Ads have ruined my brain. I have become so good at completely ignoring ads and very "eye catching" signs and graphics. My brain usually looks for useful information "in-between" those lines. It's very helpful for filtering through bull shit.

But a side effect of this is that my brain will literally filter out important warning signs. Signs that are meant to be very very obvious so you follow them. "Do not enter" type of signs.

I find myself missing really really obvious signs like this in public and it's often embarrassing. I finally realized it was because of how I've trained my brain to ignore advertising. These "obvious" things I have taught my brain are not useful information in 99% of cases since they are usually advertising.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I can definitely relate.

For instance, BG3 has this launcher window where you have to click a "play" button to start the game. The first few times I launched it, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get past that screen without help. It turns out the button was highlighted in a way to grab your attention such that I just couldn't see it.

We also have an app here for reading store flyers. Sometimes a certain store gets "featured" and they get this huge banner-like look instead of the usual thumbnail. They might as well not exist anymore at that point.

Glad to hear I'm not alone. I can notice subtle things very well. But big colors and buttons I'm basically trained to ignore. I complain about app/web UI design to a massive degree too. We need more autism coated people approving these things.

My agenda:

  1. Freak out. I was not prepared for this.
  2. Find all the best experts to help me figure this shit out. Why is there so much malaria???
  3. Probably get coup'd within a week because I do not understand the complex and cutthroat dynamics of maintaining political power and spent all my time trying to solve object level problems.
[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 day ago

Hard relate to 1. But I actually have some relevant info for 3:

You'll still get coup'd, but at least you'll have a better understanding of why.

Any organization or individual that makes more then €50,000 a day or your local currency gets taxed 100%

Anyone making more then €18 million a year has enough money.

Any individual or organisation making less then €25,000 a year pays no income tax. With the amount adjusted for inflation each year.

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 1 points 21 hours ago

more then €50,000 a day

This should be based on the salary of whoever is lowest paid within the company and all companies that they buy from recursively.

  1. I know this one may sound absurd, but how about something insane, like real equality, and another completely insane one, real accountability for politicians, corporations et al.
[–] fennesz12@feddit.dk 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think the magical powers one might be more realistic

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 6 points 1 day ago

Unfortunately you might be spot on.
