If libs want to connect with young men, they need to give them something to fight for.

The right tells young men that they're Chad kings who dominate all those around them Patrick Bateman John wick based gods.

Tell good hearted young men that they need to stand up and fight Nazis tooth and nail, and that will give a lot of them purpose.

This won't happen because:

1. Democrats can't imagine fighting for anything
2. Democrats won't actually call their opposition Nazis
3. Democrats especially don't want to fight Nazis

Case and point, the cowards already cancelled the event.

I remember Olivia demanding that Biden stay in the race until the second that he dropped out. I'm confused about who actually is her fans, so I went to her substack and found an unintentionally funny article she wrote trying to make peace with leftists.

One part of that evolution included defending the Democratic Party and its elected leaders, even when others on the left were quick to criticize. I also became quick to challenge those further left than me—leftists whose anti-capitalist, anti-institutional politics clashed with my staunch liberalism.

I picked fights. I posted videos. And I earned backlash. Many leftist creators—some with platforms even larger than mine—have taken public shots at me for supporting Democrats or for being, in their view, too aligned with the party’s talking points (a bootlicking sellout.)

From my perspective, stepping down didn’t seem likely ... So, I chose to stay the course, even as some began labeling those of us who did as “Biden dead-enders”

In the heat of election season and the looming threat of another Trump presidency, I kept fighting. I kept attacking Republicans—and I kept picking fights with people on the left.

Then came the election. Kamala lost. And I spiraled.

As 2025 began, I made a resolution: to approach politics—and people—with more compassion and discipline. As a Christian, I’d already been on a journey to strengthen my faith.

So when Lent arrived—a 40-day period of reflection and preparation—I committed to something unexpected: letting go of the urge to fight leftists online.

She took a massive L riding for Biden. Now she thinks she can appeal to leftists by engaging with civility. She hasn't even changed. She is still anti-Leftist but she think leftists will be forced to work with her now because Trump is in office.

A few public commentators have pointed out how boneheaded it is for the Democrats to suddenly be in a panic about "young men" after clutching their pearls about the "Obama boys" and "Bernie bros" for nearly 20 years, but I think something has been missed in this conversation. We're talking about a party of litches here. To them, "young men" probably includes all Millenials. Men under 40. Many of whom are married, are advancing in their careers, might have children, and would typically own a home by now but instead have been renting for over a decade already.

The age of people who have lived their entire lives without seeing the Democratic Party do anything substantially productive is only increasing. It is approaching an absolute majority, if it isn't already there. This panic about "young" men is cope. Their problem is much worse. Of course, their solution demonstrates no self-reflection. Now that they're done calling the "Bernie bros" horseshoe theory fascists for undermining their moral superiority by asking for healthcare, their takeaway is "men want fascism so we should be more fascist."

Mens issues, in general, are just normal issues. I want to be able to see a doctor and a dentist. I want to be able to keep my shitty car working. I want to be challenged intellectually at work, rather than be beast of burden or a human sorting machine. I want there to be public spaces where people go for recreational purposes, and people with time for recreation who use them, so I can make some friends. So all social interactions aren't mediated by social media monopolies and hook-up apps. I want to stop paying rent to a scumbag landlord someday. My wife and I deserve a house. We've already paid enough for one. I want to retire eventually.

But the Democrats, in an appeal to "men," are going to try to cook up a pro-"Abundance" Andrew Tate in a lab.

I wonder if she's on track to become Liberal Hitler or the farcical version of Beto O'rourke/Stacey Abrams. Of all the weird democratic twitter mercenaries, she might be the most obnoxious who wasn't there in 2016.

If you are not a liberal grifter when you are young then you have no heart.

Well that's just it - it isn't easy at all. You need to have destroyed your self-esteem or narrowed your circle humanity or beaten down whatever quality prevents us from preying on others without suffering for it.

Like the call of the void - standing at the edge of a cliff, or behind someone who is, that misty sense of how easy it would be to jump or to push is a warning of a horrible potential that our deeper structures want to make sure we're alert to prevent.
