Nebraska is definitely not within 100 miles of a land or sea border, the claimed jurisdiction of ICE. It's probably about as far as you can get, actually.

Throw it on the pile.

[–] SanicHegehog@lemm.ee 28 points 3 days ago

IIRC the argument used for this is that since you have to go through customs at an airport for international flights, the airport counts as a “border”.

Never mind that ICE's creation in 2003 was to stop human trafficking and terrorists. So they're already outside of their original designed purpose. Nothing that they are doing is legal.

Funny how all these illegal immigrants that are a drain on your society, are all are all kidnapped from work.

[–] azimir@lemmy.ml 19 points 3 days ago

Hey now, that's not fair: many are also abducted while attending legal immigration processes at government facilities.

Working and following the law are now dangerous activities for brown people (more dangerous than they were before).

U.S. Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Omaha, said the warrant was in relation to stolen identities. Bacon said Glenn Valley is “a victim in this as well” and said the company used E-Verify, an identity verification tool.

Fuck you. That company was under no illusion what their workforce looked like. Fucking stolen identity. Oh no they're paying social security taxes that they can never claim! What will we do.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

Yeah these companies 100% know what their workforce looks like. I had a family member who was a manager at meat packing plant in the Midwest. He would hire immigrants who would provide a social security number that he knew wasn't their own. If it came back as invalid, they would come back the next day with a different social security number and he would hire them.

This was the plant's policy, though eventually he did get fired for it when they needed a fall guy.

Arresting the workers, but not touching the guy who hired them and created the illegal jobs.

Let's get the naming correct. Trumps gestapo is removing undesirables from America. When he gets done with them he will start removing the other undesirables that MAGAts have on their list.

She said the raid was the result of a federal search warrant executed as part of ongoing criminal investigation into the widespread employment of undocumented people at the plant.

Oh? Then why aren't the managers or owners being arrested for this crime?

You need due process and trials for those. You used to need them for these guys too, but, uhh, well, I'm a bit puzzled on that one too tbh.

Ugh, fuck my city and state.
