It also seems as though plans for a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3 are in the early stages already. Speaking to PC Gamer, Eugene Evans, the senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing for WotC and Hasbro, said the company has already started conversations about what the next Baldur’s Gate game will look like and how it’ll be made. “We’re now talking to lots of partners and being approached by a lot of partners who are embracing the challenge of, what does the future of the Baldur’s Gate franchise look like?” he said.

I can see it now: an $80 game, only 15~ hours long with two endings that are ultimately the same. Microtransactions for cosmetics and/or premium currency. Forced registration for online services where Hasbro, WOTC, and their hundreds of partners will sell your data.

Also 5 DLC at a 20 $ Price point that adds only one extra subclass that isn't balanced at all, a buggy alpha version on release day and of course the online servers will be shut down after a coupe of years ending everybody's access anyway.

And not with anyone at Hasbro that Larian worked with, because Hasbro fired them all.

I don't envy whatever company gets hired to try and one-up Larian.

And that's fine they told their story. I can't wait what the next story Larian tells.

BG4 may happen some day, but I won't buy it (if it isn't made by Larian)

Thats cool, just like the ones that came before 3, i won't end up playing it

The ones before were awesome. BioWare at its best. Due to sickness I couldn't continue 2 but it's supposed to be one of the best RPGs ever. Maybe even surpassing 3.

Because? It's not even in development yet?

Because there's a lot of negativity towards Hasbro and everything they are associated with given recent years. It's a miracle BG3 came out good at all, let alone as good as it is with them involved.
