I have an irrational fear of this exact situation happening to. I have rehearsed answers to all this weird little small talk questions about myself.
I must have spent thousands of hours small talking with myself in my own head and I'm still shit at it.
Person: what's your favorite song? Me: At the moment it's [non stop 15min info dump] Person: Yeah they're great, have you heard [literally any other song of theirs?] Me: Uhhhhh what?
the first date i took my wife on, we went to a show. a friend of ours was playing an intimate, private show at a little art studio nearby and he had room for two more, so we got an amazing first date. toward the end, he knew my favorite band at the moment and asked me if I wanted to join him in singing THE ONE SONG OF THEIRS I CAN NEVER TO THIS DAY REMEMBER THE LYRICS i seriously think this might have given me a mental block around this song. i can very occasionally see the future so i decided against turning into watermelon bob, let him sing it by himself.
I swear, it happens all the fucking time. I've thought of some made-up answers in order to not sound dumber than I am and yet, every other interactions there's still a wormhole that siphons my mind...
