I accidentally moved my PC while the antenna cables were caught on something, leading to them ripping. would I be able to just solder the connector bit to the cable?

They are coaxial so you would have to carefully solder both the center wire and outer shield and keep the two from having electrical contact. Even if you manage to do that, there will be an impedance mismatch that might really degrade signal strength.

I would personally just shop for replacement antennae.

Funny you asked. I was splicing coax cables for one of my projects.

There are a few layers in that coax cable that are two conduits sandwiched in a bunch of insulators. You'll need a sharp precision knife like x-acto, some solder, as well as a pair of steady hands. Some clips to hold the cable ends together can go a long way.

You can find more details on my blog :)

These look like sma-male connectors. you’ll need to re-terminate them, you’ll need new connectors and a crimper, but it’s really easy to do.

If those are for WiFi they might be sma male reverse polarity, same crimper, just a different connector.

may just buy replacements since I don't have a crimper for this cable. Thanks for the info!

sorry bro, you will have to either buy new one or buy connectors and attach them on the cable.

also, if the braided coax shield was inside of the knurled sleeve on the tail of the connector, then these were assembled completely wrong. Don’t buy from that vendor again.
