I don't know if war crimes are really a boring dystopia. A boring dystopia is like when insurance companies can use paperwork to murder children, or how people join the army to avoid student debt. Bombing hospitals is very violent. Violence is many things, none of them boring.

No, they are not. But the well-funded propaganda used to run interference for them is... which is why I'm posting this.
Hmm fair enough. It's still less boring than most but I support a big tent approach to the boring dystopia.
It's definitely extremely fucking dystopian. The NYT opinion section and their ilk just instantly mobilized to write a dizzying amount of war crime apologia the second the whole thing started. It's like they're reading manufacturing consent and nodding along with all the bright and good ideas in there.
