I decided to look it up and there have been 44 direct to video or streaming Barbie films since 2001, including one earlier this year.
I suppose the difference here is feature length theater release and will likely have lots of celebrities voicing different characters.

My buddy worked on a hot wheels version of one of these back in the day. Mattel has definitely been making toy cartoons for decades. Good old direct to video
