Europe community on dbzer0. Intended to be a place to discuss European news, politics, or just general topics from a European perspective. Since this is on dbzer0 expect the community to lean more leftist-anarchist but a wide range of views are accepted here (within reason).
Rules:
1. No Bigotry or Hate Speech
Any forms of Homophobia, Transphobia, Queerphobia, Racism, or Ableism will be met with swift and harsh action and will not be tolerated here whatsoever. Bigots will be banned immediately on-sight. This includes apologia of it.
Trying to be politely or intellectually bigoted i.e. "Just asking questions" won't be tolerated.
2. No Zionism
Any forms of Zionism or Zionist rhetoric will not be tolerated here, this includes Zionist apologia, accusations of antisemitism towards anti-Zionists, or blatant denial or downplaying of the genocide towards Palestinians. Any attempt to uphold or prop up the IHRA definition of antisemitism, will be treated as Zionism.
Anyone engaging in Pro-Zionist sentiment or apologia will be actioned in accordance with its severity.
Note: Trying to find loopholes or whataboutery to see what is or isn't genocide denial or Zionism will be treated as a violation of this rule. Don't test us.
3. Stay Civil
Please maintain civil discourse in the community. Do not engage in arguments with others, name-calling, or insults. Note that calling out bigotry or Zionism is not considered an insult. In heated arguments users are encouraged to or even required to disengage failure to do so will result in mod action.
4. No Misinformation
Spreading of misinformation intentionally in this community is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Spreading misinformation hurts the credibility of the community and can mislead people sometimes in dangerous ways. Users who intentionally post misinformation as articles, comment answers, or in attempt to win arguments will be actioned swiftly.
Note: This includes Russian and Chinese propaganda. Users with a history of such posting will be banned on sight.
5. No AI Content
Please do not post articles or content primarily created using generative AI. Generative AI content may contain misinformation or be lower quality and thus is discouraged. Posts and comments featuring it will be removed. However this community does not allow or tolerate Anti-AI trolling or hostility and users who engage in such behavior will be actioned for it, additionally Anti-AI trolling violates Rule 3 and often Rule 4 so it is generally unacceptable already.
Note: Rules 1 & 2 may be subject to preemptive mod action due to their severity, and they apply to a user's entire post history. Not just this community.

Please tell me about how Afghanistan is a safe enough country to deport refugees to it.
So if a refugee comes here who shows no respect for the people here, for the values and culture. then rapes a couple of 12 year olds should we just say: hey whatever man, just go to jail for 3 years (which the taxpayer pays for) then get out and we all just hope you've changed? I won't come into your house without being asked, raid your fridge, shit on your bed and if you get angry and call the police I'll call you a Nazi! If people come here fleeing from war, persecution etc., build a new life here, behave civilly and pay taxes, then everything is fine, but why do many people have to suffer for those who just want to take advantage of the system and give a fuck about everyone else?

Refugees are people. If they are deemed to be unsafe to return, then they cannot return, even if criminal. Just like a natural born citizen is not deported. Refugees certainly have an obligation to respect and join the local culture, either with integration or multiculturalism or other ways, but they don't have the right to be criminal any more than anyone else. If there are multiple rapes happening from one person, that's a failure of the justice system, not the immigration system.
However, a failed claim, and the war over,.I think it's fair to say, they can return. I don't think we're necessarily at that point. I note Britain has been sneaking in refugees without media attention due to an intelligence leak that out them in danger.
Idk I dont get ur point. Maybe we just having different views lol. But for me as a person, I think the most important task of the government is to ensure the security of its own country and the security of the people in it. If I kill people and rape people, I have forfeited my right to safety in this country, even if that means I have to go back to a country that is unsafe. Because why do the people in the country who just want to live in peace have to suffer?
We live in a country with morals and rules and we take in other people who are looking for a better life. That is all right and important for us as humanity. But there are not only good people and if these people come in and stir up chaos and despair, they should just leave. I don't understand the point of us taking this big step of telling them that they can stay here because it's unsafe for them elsewhere, because they're making it unsafe for everyone else. I come from a refugee family myself and I couldn't think of acting like an asshole here because I have the chance to build a better life for myself. I have to give an extreme and exaggerated example, please don't take it personally, I just can't think of anything else. If I come into your house and kill your family so that your neighbors want to kill me, will you tell me to stay in youre house so that youre neighbors don't catch me?
Is every person being sent back a rapist of a 12 year old or are people getting caught up on the system? Either way, I'm all for sending the rapist to prison at our expensive. I don't want to send them back to Afghanistan where they certainly will have no repurcuasions for raping a 12 year old girl. I think rape isn't okay anywhere in the world. I dont support sending immigrants back, because I don't support rape.
ok I understand this point. I still have a slightly different opinion but I understand your point of view and it makes sense. Of course, not everyone who is sent back is the one who exploits the system, but then to say we don't send anyone away is wrong in my eyes. But it's still a shame that unfortunately too many “wrong” people make it here and too few who just try to have a good life. Nevertheless, it was a good conversation with you, you gave me a different point of view to think about. :)

Also, that's a really strange construction of identity and ownership and entitlement. Seems to me it should change a bit as one scales up, but i guess not.
Do you think that a rapist is going to be rehabilitated or even punished by the Taliban for raping someone in a different country? What tells you that they won't just go on a raping spree in Afghanistan? Deporting criminals like this puts people in the countries they are deported to in danger.
