Memeology is basically "here's a funny thing that only got popular because a bunch of neo-nazis thought it was funny, then liberals wanted to fit in so they started using it too, then leftists started taking the piss out of it until they started using it unironically too, it's only once corporations start getting involved does everyone agree to stop using it"

We truly live in exciting times indeed

[–] pythonoob@programming.dev 18 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I've never heard of that before.

You're lucky. It's a term used by conservatives (people who oppose the concept of morality unless it's where they pretend to have morals in order to commit awful acts against others) to belittle people who think morals aren't "for fags"

I’m taking it back and use it on right wingers because when you look at them, they really do look like soyboys.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Then how do you explain I found a drawing of you as a soyjak, pictured close to myself as a Chad?

[–] pythonoob@programming.dev 5 points 1 year ago

Shit, that um...

Well ...

[–] Donkter@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I can't get over that we missed the perfect opportunity for it to be sojaboye instead of soyboy

[–] grayman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Probably copyright infringement against souljaboy the rapper.

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I doubt 4chan would care about something like copyright infringement when they spew slurs and all that

The forbidden knowledge

this is real science

[–] grue@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Hmm, I guess etymology (linguistics) sort of counts as science.

[–] delitomatoes@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

I miss /r/etymology
