I got a letter that I'm registered for military service, it's 12 months, I will be accepted in the medical exams and there's no way to avoid it, I don't fear dying in a war since what our military basically does is training and planting trees. I can choose the age that I serve in between 19 and 25.

Service will obviously make it impossible to affirm? or how it's called, yk uniforms and military codes, not really something that i find myself in.

So, I am wondering if anyone here has a similar experience and can provide with some tips or anything.

Also, would it be better to do it early or late? If I do it early I'll be worked like a donkey, but I'll be given more freedom earlier. Or should I do it late which will give me a higher rank instantly (it's based on the college degree not age) and I'll just sit in an office for 12 months, but I'll finish it late and I have the risk of dropping out in college and being dragged into service earlier and possibly falling into a depression mental state with a fully loaded Chinese AK..

I don't really have experience with this kind of stuff but you could see if there is a possibility to substitute your millirary service for volunteer work if I recall correctly finland and switzerland have options like that if not I would advice starting your service after you have a college degree it might be difficult to start collega again if in the middle you had to skip a year because of service

Problem is the volunteer work also requires dress codes that aren't me

I'm nonbinary. My service was in 2021. I got a lot more from it than what I expected. I learned very useful things. Like basic fighting and survival skills. I remember our team leaders words how artillery is the most meaningful unit in war. This information can be used understanding war in Ukraine. Russia has superior artillery, thus they have an advantage and easier time even as the attacking side.

Life can be tough, maybe even more so as a communist. Military might help you 'toughen up', but I think it all comes down to most importantly YOURSELF. If/whenever you go serve, I hope you can get something worthwhile out of it.
