They just want you to buy their hardware and use their subscription services. At least Microsoft has their stuff on PC day one.

PC gamers would have been sad having to wait a year or longer to come to PC. Same for modders. Or maybe Sony would have let PC be allowed. Or not. They are a wild card for PC.

For sony it's more of a wildcard for ever getting the game on PC at all, seems like it's at least 5 years wait.

I really don't see this going through, there's so much push back from the FTC and rightly so. When competition just ends up being one company buying up everything, that is not a good thing and we should not be praising the acquisition.
