It's like the guy with a mattress tied to his car with his arm out the window holding it while going 60 down the highway as if the ropes could fail, but he can hold it in place
I am debating a similie but: A lot of things kind of move around before failing. This moving around can be stopped by holding them rigid.
Ignore the text box in the bottom image and that dude has a really awkward/forced smile
