DnD characters don't have to get drug tested for work

DND characters are given drugs for work. Potions are just homebrew drugs.
My alchemist would ace that drug test, he's been studying
New D&D players: "I wish I was a badass like my character."
Intermediates: "Haha my bard disguised as a fighter just fell down a mineshaft what an ignominous end. Hey DM, for my next character, are you cool with lawful-good-aligned clerics of chaotic neutral deities? God I do not envy my characters but they are so fucking funny."
Veterans: "My character is just me except fantasy."
don't give your characters a tragic backstory. give them a tragic **front**story
Tragic backstories are sad things that happened before the player took over.
Tragic frontstories are awful things that happened because the player took over.

I mean not even. I simply am not. Physical or emotional. My boy got a 20 Strength and family who cares and supports him. Mine is closer to 12 and no external support network

Well that's a given in most games, unless you're going to lengths to depict your character as particularly homely.
Wife and I were just talking about thr rise of D&D and the isekai genre in media and how overly popular both are right now. Like, seriously anywhere is better than planet earth right now.
In D&D I can live out my fantasies of having enough agency in my life to do something about the end of the world brought about by megalomaniacal bastards, and having positive net worth.
My character's village was wiped out by a necromancer and he's currently an undead abomination out for revenge. I think I'm fine where I am.
