2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

The exact perfect image, well done!

Edit now realize this is probably ai generated, still well done!

    [–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Of course it's AI generated. It's the systemic anomaly.

Guess not, Gnome desktops have nothing on them.

    [–] Draconic_NEO@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Not if you have the DING plugin installed (can be installed either as a plugin from the store or from the repos as a system-wide one) then you can have the icons on your Desktop just like other OSes.

Gnome purists would be very offended tho...

Safer to try every keypress to find out how to get to the terminal.

    [–] KISSmyOS@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

    Super-key -> t -> Enter

If that doesn't work, you're not using the terminal enough.

Watch out, the KDElves won't like that at all!

    [–] Veneroso@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

The XFCEsketeers have asked for a pause on the puns.

    [–] Epzillon@lemmy.world 17 points 11 months ago

Strange, we usually have them by the toilet.

    [–] KISSmyOS@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

But how do you use it?

    [–] Aggravationstation@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

He doesn't know how to use the three seashells!

    [–] traches@sh.itjust.works 13 points 11 months ago

    Yes, perfectly. 10/10 no notes

    [–] woelkchen@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

    Am I doing this right?

    No, it's a shelf, not a desk.

I would prefer gnome in a nook.

    [–] RageAgainstTheRich@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Hmmm are you missing packages? My GNOME desktop looks different 🤔 is it a custom distro theme or?

    [–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

    HUMMEL distro.

Badly configured server. Showing server and version in 403 is a first step for attacks.

    [–] j4k3@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Not mine, used Moe's litterbox not knowing how long it might last as a temp image of OP image as BG for GNOME. Turns out that temp hosting option is probably rate limited...no big deal. It wasn't a forever internet pic anyways.

    [–] Gnomie@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

    hello to all my gnomies

    [–] Maalus@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

You've all been gnomed. And you celebrate.

    [–] GravelPieceOfSword@lemmy.ca 8 points 11 months ago

Do the three finger swipe left and right to switch desktops.

Then three finger swipe upwards for overview.

It'll be Gnome all over, I promise you!

    [–] nfsu2@feddit.cl 7 points 11 months ago

    icon theme?

    [–] sir_pronoun@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

No. Oh God, no. This isn't right. On no level is this right.

    [–] lemmesay@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 11 months ago

Your gnome collection looks great in that light. Now I want some.

    [–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 11 months ago

    [–] BigBlackCockroach@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Gnomes are fun in a mischievous way, but don't let them fool you they do have very sharp teeth!

I learned this the hard way on a heroic dose...🍄🍄🍄🍄👁👁👁👀👀👀👀👁👁👁👀🦷🦷🦷🦷🦷🙈🙈🙈🙈

    [–] Lifter@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 11 months ago

    That's not a desk though

    [–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

    Nice light.. dm

    Gnome if was good

    [–] OddFed@feddit.de 1 points 11 months ago

Well, a humorous fauxpas! While others just find it amusing, I, cannot refrain from teaching that GNOME is actually a so called Desktop Environment! A computer program to be installed on your home PC.

    [–] sagrotan@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

I'm curious about the fluxbox though.

    [–] PlantDadManGuy@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Reminds me of that sidequest in fable 2 with the evil gnomes.
