His 'hand' there is actually a cute wittle foot. Bat 'hands' are just wings, only the final finger is unwebbed.
(I tried hard to get mastodon to display the other comments to directly respond to them... didn't quite work as only the thread starter showed. So I have no idea how this will display in lemmy.)

That's indeed his little foot! They are such amazing animals. And your comment is displaying just fine with tags for each user you mentioned.

It's the coolest thing ever. I'm not a tech person, so I'm still learning how everything is connected.

Maybe just me, but it looks more like a fruit bat not sharing a snack with a butterfly! Very "NO!... mine!" energy

You might be right!

I had no idea their fingers looked so much like ours....it's oddly creepy. Bats are such awesome animals though.

Most mammals share a lot of similar bone structure.

Hell even dolphins look like they have hands when you look at their skeletons.

I know, but it's different to physically see it with skin like that.

Bats are cool

Bats are the only true flying mammals. There are over 1,400 species of bats, and they can be found on nearly every part of the planet. Not only are they cute, they are also important...

Studying how bats use echolocation has helped scientists develop navigational aids for the blind. Without bats’ pollination, seed dispersal, and pest control we wouldn’t have bananas, avocados, mangoes, agave, or cacao… that’s right, bats bring us tequila and chocolate!
