Is anybody here also interested in electronic (techno, house, jungle, etc) dance music?

The kind of stuff that is usually - and often exclusively - sold on the likes of Beatport or Juno.

If so, do you know where we can source the latest releases?

thanks

Soulseek is the best option I've found for this: https://www.slsknet.org/news/node/1

It's an old style file sharing app, like Napster and Limewire, but is focused on underground music. I've been using it for years and had no problems with spyware or anything like that.

Soulseek is great secondary source but often a little slow to get the latest releases - users appear to source their new music from elsewhere (like DJ Sound Top or Electronic Fresh). I was hoping that there might be other primary sources.

Try rutracker.org or rutracker.ru. It may take a few days, up to a week sometimes, but they mostly have the latest releases from dance music. The most active though on rutracker.org is the Psytrance community, so the genres you mentioned might not get the latest stuff posted frequently.

I'm into the real dubstep scene and without looking into private trackers your best bets are soulseek or ripping the tracks yourself from Spotify if they get a release on there.

Beyond that I haven't found any other, better resources other than just going ahead and buying stuff. Also you didn't mention bandcamp so you should probably check that out if you haven't already. Not a fan of beatport or Juno personally.

(if you like psytrance, it looks like Ektoplazm’s archives are still available)
