Once we get rid of math I'll be rich! The easiest way to reach equality. When things can't add up we are all worth nothing.

999 times out of 1,000 arguments from "what about the children" are stalking horses to control the behavior of other adults.

The conservative mind believes in the tabula rosa concept that children have no agency and are vessels for adults to fill with knowledge, culture, and morals. Therefore new social ideas and change must therefore be a conspiracy to trick the young.

Can anyone explain to me what he actually means by this? This isn’t that Terrence Howard shit is it?

Probably a reference to 'common core', a new way to teach arithmetic developed by mathematicians and educators geared less toward rote memorization and more toward intuitive understanding of numbers and patterns.

The problem is that it's "not the way I was taught" and therefore wrong, ridiculous, and a conspiracy probably.
