Hey, Everyone!

As you may have noticed, there have been some additions to the sidebar. I've added some links that I hope the community will find useful:

  • Plex FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about using Plex Media Server and client apps with many useful links
  • Plex App Setup Guide - Visual guide for first-run setup of Plex apps on smart devices (content thanks to user @tron@lemm.ee)
  • Useful Plex Add-ons - Detailed info on many Plex add-ons with setup guides and other useful links

Of course, if anyone else has any useful links, etc. they'd like to share, please comment on this post or share in your own post. The best links might even get added to the sidebar!

Cheers!

As a server owner for over 5 years with dozens of users I still have to Google problems every so often. Now people are leaving reddit and deleting their comment on the way out, soon reddit is going to become totally useless when troubleshooting issues. We're all gonna need places like this to keep our rigs running. So thank you for getting this place up and running I look forward to contributing anyway I can!

There's always the official Plex forums that Plex and App devs often frequent. Reddit was good for user support and common situations but if I ever have a specific issue with an app or server function the official forums are ALWAYS my go to.

thanks! i've tried to see what i can salvage from reddit, but a surprising amount of resources there are actual reddit posts or reddit wiki articles which isn't something I want to link to. the FAQ is something from a reddit post, which took hours to reproduce in Markdown, so i'd rather find something easier.

if you find stuff, let me know!

Rules

Rule 1 - Don't be a dick

Don't be a dick. This includes any kind of trolling, baiting, etc. Bigotry may result in an instant permaban.

Rule 2 - No misleading or non-descriptive titles

No misleading or non-descriptive titles. Try to be brief but detailed.

Rule 3 - Keep post and comments relevant

Posts must be related to Plex and Plex-related products, apps. etc. Try to keep comments relevant to the parent comment and to the post.

Rule 4 - Keep discussions of "media aqcuistion" limited to means and methods only.

Discussions regarding media acquisition should be limited to the "how" not the "what", as this is not the place to discuss piracy of specific media. There are other communities for that, and we don't want to get this community defederated from instances where it's a forbidden topic. Posts/comments discussing specific acts of piracy ("How do I find X show?" or "Where can I download Y film?")will be removed. For further clarification see this post

Rule 5 - No asking / offering Plex shares.

Rule 7 - No referral / self-promotion / affiliate links, personal voting / campaigning / funding, or selling posts

No referral / self-promotion / affiliate links, personal voting / campaigning / funding, or selling posts. These are considered spam, and will be removed. Repeat offenses may result in a ban.
