This is almost certainly because glue like that is used in homemade slime recipes.
It's a fun chemistry demo. The borax links the PVA molecules into polymers.
I mean, yeah. You never make a glue glove?
Throw in some laundry cleaner bags and the good markers and you got the ultimate stocking stuffer

50 gallons would be even better, then the kids can take a bath in Elmer's glue.
