Plural of cactus is cactus, cacti or cactuses
It’s all Greek to me, but I’m not Latin that bother me.

Octopodes, if you want to keep both parts Latin.
Greek, Latin plural would be Octopi and the root word is Greek.
Plural of cactus is cacti. Plural of octopus is octopuses. Octopi is apparently acceptable now too, but I’m not convinced.
Octopus has a Greek root, so the correct plural would be octopodes. Octopuses and octopi are both acceptable, though. But I do love to bring up etymology whenever this comes up.
