Personally, RIF was still kind of working for me until today. I opened up lemmy and the first post I saw was the release of the Sync app lol

This morning when I got the notification it was downloading, lemmy.world was straight up down. Whether it's true or not, I'm saying it was Sync's release and the flood of new users.
It's more active every day.
I've definitely used Lemmy more than previously today.
It's like I've gone from using a promising alpha for a Reddit replacement to a near-finished product. I love it.
Yeah but it's mostly people talking about Sync...
Me a 13 year redditor and just browse with a regular web browser like an old man. You can keep the apps.
I know I'll be using Lemmy more now. The mobile web interface wasn't terrible and was leagues better than reddits. But the app brings a much better UX I feel.
Starting using sync today, loving it so far
The app is great, just like it was on Reddit. But I signed up yesterday for Lemmy and let's just say it's going to be a while before I can ditch Reddit. There's hardly anything on Lemmy in the way of my interests, and the communities seem confusing and fragmented. I'll check in every few months, but as long as Sync still works for Reddit I won't be moving over any time soon.
Why not help build it though? Itβs all community driven and unlike Reddit, Lemmy is much better at surfacing small communities and new posts. Youβd be surprised how quickly you can get replies/comments.
Oh heck yeah. This looks great!
Must be coincidental. Sync can't create posts yet however a lot of popular reddit client ports have been released since.
Additionally a lot of subreddits claimed official instances / communities. Glad to see things looking more lively though, I've been getting so frustrated with the official reddit app.
Well I'm here, I couldn't even log in using the other apps. Lemmy is confusing for me at the moment. Sync however made it able for me to log in, view topics that interest me.
I'm be honest though, most of the chatter I've seen has been people dunking on sync because of it's subscription model and very high lifetime price
I just created my account on Lemmy now Sync is here (yay, notifications).
Also! The sign up page was rather slow, so I suppose many people are signing up right now.
Also!! Reddit was/is having service outages again.
I couldn't stand the mobile web UI, but now it just feels like a younger, newer version of Reddit
I've spent countless hours on reddit on the reddit sync
I used lemmy fairly little because on mobile, the experience wasn't great.
Glad it's back. I'll probably be more active because of it ngl.
I'm definitely going to be using it more often. The official Reddit app is so bad that Sync being for something else is enough to make me move.
Either way I'm loooooving sync. Way slicker than the other two I tried
Ive been here since July 1st.....Seeing 250 comments on a post and almost 1300 up whatever theyre called lol, this shits finally taking off...LETS GOOO..I loved liftoff but im sorry to say sync is just, well amazing and seamless.
I've had Lemmy for months now but never felt like actually posting much because the clients were just not very good. I'll be posting more now that I have Sync, although the prices for premium versions are frankly obscene.
Sync is honestly the only thing that made me aware of Lemmy. I signed up a few days ago, and heard about it weeks ago, but today I can start using it more actively.
