I want to move back to the FMHY instance, but I have ~40 communities I need transferred, all on different instances.

My issues here are more focused on Lemmy, rather than FMHY, though I figured I'd post it here due to other people likely having a similar issue. (I might post it on the Lemmy Support community if this goes nowhere.)

I've tried manually creating the links, but Lemmy throws an error.

I have also tried searching for the community via the Communities tab, but that doesn't let my go by instance, which is important when the name is something common like c/memes.

In addition, due to the Communities search sorting by top, new, or old, (with no option for relevance) there tends to be other communities that are related, but that are not actually what I'm looking for. I have put an image example here:

less important noteFor things like memes, I usually subscribe to a bunch of the same named communities anyways, but often I'd like to avoid an instance/community for various reasons but it shows up in the results anyways.

(for example, when searching memes, lemmygrad's community might show up, which, despite being called memes, (and not political memes) only contains political memes.

(This is not being shown in the screenshot, as I have blocked the lemmygrad instance due to brigading other communities/users/instances, though I hope what I mean still comes across regardless.))

Edits:

  • replaced 'ร  la' with 'for example'
  • removed unnecessary snippet
  • removed herobrine
  • removed 'added edits section' from edits section, unneeded
  • added "removed 'added edits section' from edits section, unneeded", for the goofs
  • punctuation for added understanding

Thank you! This worked.

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml, !memes@lemmygrad.ml
