Hopefully LemmyIsFun is on the way

[-] MothBookkeeper@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

He says he's working on Tildes, but I agree anyway.

I'm loving wefwef.app

I replaced my RiF icon with it and I don't feel like I'm missing anything...

[-] Pika@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I want to use wefwef but, it's strictly a web app, so I can't place it in my sidebar/quick launch and I dislike having things on the homescreen

[-] popemichael@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

You can install it like a normal app

I have it in my side bar

[-] Pika@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

it might be a restriction for edge apps, I can put it on my home screen but it doesn't let me drag or manually add it onto the edge app panel. I expect it's because technically it's not an app but a shortcut

yes, it it designated as a shortcut on the home screen, you can tell its a shortcut because it shows the browser in the corner of it.

it's intentional by design(because its a web app) but, because of this designation it isn't able to go on the edge bar.

I've found connect though which works amazingly for what I wanna do. It reminds me of Infinity somewhat

[-] johnxreturn@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I’m loving wefwef, feels extremely like Apollo. I definitely found my new home.

[-] Reivax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I like wefwef. It feels familiar, but there's nuances. It's a bit of struggle to transition to this new interface. Reply and upvote and downvote are behind a menu, not right at the bottom. Clicking the message collapses it instead of opening options. But it's fine, I like it so far.

Jerboa is the one I'm using. I prefer its UI to the mock apple layout from wehweh

[-] PillowTalk420@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I'm using Connect for Lemmy on Android and it's pretty close to how RIF looked, but not exactly.

[-] 37218@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Good enough, for now

[-] Stony_Logica1@reddthat.com 3 points 1 year ago

RIF refugee also now using Connect for Lemmy. It's been a fairly easy transition. I like the swipe guestures. Hopefully the community will grow because FUCK SPEZ.

[-] Reallyreallybigman@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the comment because I immediately started swiping my screen. Neat feature.

[-] jpeps@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Agreed. I've only had a quick look round but I've felt most at home and confident that I'll be happy with Lemmy using Connect. Enough of the settings are the same. I there were settings to get the posts in list view a bit tighter I'd be happier.

Also, did it take anyone else a while to figure out that you can long press on comments to hide them?

[-] SHITPOSTING_ACCOUNT@feddit.de 7 points 1 year ago

After using Jerboa (cannot recommend - too buggy, too crashy, and didn't work properly with most servers after an update), I switched to Connect for Lemmy and was happy with it.

[-] Poeticbiscuit@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Thanks for this. Currently using Connect and so far it's been good.

[-] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Agree/10. Connect is where it's at for now as far as I'm concerned, for now

[-] Nemo@slrpnk.net 7 points 1 year ago

I've been using Jerboa all day and it seems solid.

[-] xNekoyaki@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I am using Connect for Lemmy, so far, I like it, but it's the first app I've tried, haha. I used RIF for at least 10 years. Geez, didn't realize it had been that long...

Edit: ok, I'm using Liftoff now, I love it so far!

[-] gears@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

wefwef.app is pretty good (and a web app, so cross platform)

jerboa is decent, the new updates are nice but are only compatible with 0.18 (which lemmy.world will update to tomorrow)

Liftoff is okay, I haven't enjoyed it as much as jerboa or wefwef.

I also use the actual site's web app a bit, but I hate the live updating feed lol.

[-] wide_eyed_stupid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Here's the community Lemmy Apps.

Here's a list of all the apps: https://lemmy.world/post/465785

Plenty of devs moved to Lemmy and plenty of choices across platforms. :)

[-] WigglyTortoise@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'm loving Wefwef so far. It doesn't have much in terms of customization, but it's much more polished than any of the other apps I've tried. https://wefwef.app

Definitely holding out for Sync and Boost though, I have a feeling one of those two is going to be what I settle on long-term.

[-] RomanRoy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Liftoff for Android has been great for me.

[-] Fractalfarmer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 year ago

I'm enjoying Connect For Lemmy on android. I couldn't get on with Jerboa even after much changing of settings.

[-] CasualPenguin@reddthat.com 2 points 1 year ago

Same. The muscle memory is a bit different but Connect feels pretty similar to RiF

[-] Pentotion@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

For android, Thunder

[-] Minty@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I'm using wefwef.app until Boost for Lemmy is available, it's been the smoothest one I've tried out of it, Jerboa, Liftoff, and Connect.

[-] CaptainBlagbird@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Currently I use Connect for Lemmy the most. I also have Thunder, Liftoff and Jerboa installed.

Connect seems to work best for multiple accounts on different instances, supports notifications and I just like the overall look-and-feel.

[-] 2dollarsim@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

On android I downloaded Jerboa from fdroid store. It works and was simple to install and login.

Definitely still needs some work but I'm sure it will improve over time.

[-] TurnItOff_OnAgain@lemdro.id 1 points 1 year ago

Liftoff is great! Works on iOS, android, Linux, and windows.

[-] ebits21@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

I’m liking Memmy on iOS so far!

[-] hypernovahotdog@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Beta is full at the moment. I wonder if it’s worth me trying to build myself.

[-] orgrinrt@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Currently I’ve landed on it too. I have wefef and mlem installed too, but while the former looks amazing, it’s janky to use and doesn’t feel native, and while the latter is extremely smooth to use, and has my exact preference for the sliding actions for posts (none of these apps currently support customization much further than the very basics of theme and filters etc.), it looks so rough, my aesthetically oriented brain just doesn’t feel comfortable using it.

Memmy on the other hand, is like the middle ground between the two, BUT also really feels the most polished. I don’t know the behind the scenes or whatever, so not exactly sure if it is the most polished of the three, but it sure looks and feels that way.

But all of these are pretty rough, still, which is to be expected.

I really think Memmy might be my next Apollo. The only thing I really miss is the sliding customization, since I keep accidentally initiating writing a comment when I instinctively want to save something.

[-] TomMhCl@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

For Android right now I love Liftoff. It's a pain to install but the user experience is very good. Feels very smooth.

[-] TheMauveAvenger@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

You know it's on the Play Store, right?

[-] thetooth@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

It is but google demands I send them a photocopy of my drivers licence in order to install it for some insane reason, never seen this before so maybe google themselves are starting to feel the heat of this 🤔
