Side note: I hate QR codes on things intended to be on mobile: I’m on my phone, I can’t scan my phones screen with my phone.

I know Lemmy isn’t exclusively mobile, so this doesn’t count. Just wanted to rant.

Actually, I literally just found out that iOS gives a “navigate to” option when long pressing on images with QR codes. I was completely unaware until I did it by accident just now.

Huh, thanks! I knew about the screenshot option but not this. Screenshot is still the only option if it’s embedded in an app or other way where you can’t select the image.

Scanning a QR code on the phone from the phone ...how devious

it's too bad he didn't drop his visor during the roll, and reach back and grab it real quick like Indiana Jones

[-] negativenull@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

HA! That would be amazing!

An ingenious way to prevent us from previewing rickrolls... Star Trek truly is the future

Invidious has made it possible again.

I recognize the tail but I'm gonna click it on my PC with adblock, just because I respect your hustle.

[-] princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 months ago

The link is to an Invidious instance, which already handles the ad-blocking server side. :)

/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.
